Research Assistant : Aging in animal mouse model, iHealthtech

The Research Assistant (RA) will investigate the effects of pulsed magnetic fields therapy on aging and health in animal models. The candidate will assist the Research Fellow at understanding the underlying mechanisms related to aging and senescence and the modulation of these pathways using in vitro and in vivo models.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and submit animal protocol for institutional approval. The applicant is responsible for animal husbandry and breeding of animals.
• Tissue cryo-sectioning, preparation of paraffin-embedded tissues and immunofluorescence of animal tissues.
• Perform skeletal muscle fiber isolation and phenotyping using optimized gel electrophoresis and immunohistochemistry.
• Assist in tissue cell culture and biological in vitro assays such as ELISA, flow cytometry, western blots, and quantitative PCR.
• Assist in the preparation of cell culture media and other buffer formulations. 
• Perform analysis and documentation of research findings.
• Support the organization of laboratory supplies and assist in administrative activities

The applicant should:

• Successfully completed MSc in Biology / Biomedical Sciences
• Applicant should have prior knowledge in tissue cryo-sectioning, preparation of paraffin-embedded tissues and familiar with immunofluorescence staining of animal tissues.
• Be comfortable with animal handling. Animal husbandry experience is preferred. . 
• Prior experience in basic laboratory techniques such as cell culture, histology, and confocal microscopy is advantageous.
• Proficient in English.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, ImageJ, GraphPad Prism and BioRender.
• Highly motivated, independent, detail-oriented
