Job Purpose

The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) is a policy research think-tank in the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore.

IPS is looking to hire, on a two-year contract, an Executive for its Events team. This close-knit and dedicated team is responsible for running all IPS events, which serve as a platform to communicate research findings to the broader public in Singapore.


Job Description

•    Coordinating, administering, and managing a wide range of conferences and other events; ensuring the management, researchers and administration staff work closely for the success of the Institute’s events.
•    Handling all aspects of event management. This includes planning, budgeting, liaising with speakers and partners, booking venues, arranging participant registration, preparing conference materials, managing event secretariats, overseeing the event on-site or online, and conducting post-event follow-ups.
•    Assisting in general administrative duties such as answering the main line, maintaining the Institute’s database for event registration, and any ad-hoc duties assigned.


Qualifications

•    Have at least a Bachelor’s degree in relevant Business Administration discipline from a reputable university
•    Preferably with two years’ working experience or has experience in event organisation. Fresh graduates with a keen interest in event organising may also apply
•    Be motivated, able to work under pressure and possess good interpersonal skills
•    Have a strong command of both written and spoken English
•    Be methodical, organised and a good team player
•    Be proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Access
