Career Advisor [Graduate Students] (NUS Centre for Future-Ready Graduates)

NUS Centre for Future-ready Graduates (CFG) adopts a multipronged, client-centric approach to help our students discover their passion, refine their skills and demonstrate their value to employers.  Beginning with the end in mind, we create a four-year road map to help enhance the employability of our graduates through a repertoire of career programmes and industry focused experiential opportunities. Students take a structured approach from Year 1 to explore multiple pathways, develop people skills, build their resilience, and gain relevant exposure to chart their trajectory amidst change and uncertainty.

CFG is continuously innovating and enhancing the quality of our services, as our students deserve the best tools, preparedness, and mindset to not just land a good career, but be well equipped with key transferable skill sets that can help them navigate a lifetime of careers across multiple industries. 

Duties & Responsibilities: 
•    Customise career coaching sessions to help graduate students attain a deeper self-awareness of themselves and career inclinations so that they are empowered to explore relevant curriculum, activities and careers that match their interests, values and skills
•    Collaborate with our industry relations team to organise recruitment talks, career fairs and to   facilitate networking opportunities between employers and graduate students
•    Plan and run the annual postgraduate career symposium to support graduate students’ transitions to industry careers
•    Develop and design workshops and experiential learning programmes to equip students with relevant industry insights, career and workplace competencies 
•    Work closely with faculties to actively engage graduate students to increase their success in gaining internship and career opportunities
•    Conduct research and perform needs analysis to enhance the employability of graduate students


Qualifications

•    A recognized PhD degree in Science or Engineering preferably with 2-3 years of work experience. Master’s Degree holders with at least 5 years of industry experience in Engineering or technical STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) roles may also apply
•    Good industry knowledge of the latest transformation, emerging opportunities and hiring trends
•    Excellent organizational, problem-solving and presentation skills 
•    Resilient and adaptable with ability to work independently and collaboratively with partners and colleagues to manage change and achieve goals
•    Proficiency in data analysis and social media tools will be an advantage
