Assistant Manager/Manager, Strategic Communications & Content

Updated: 1 day ago

You will shape narratives, messages and communications approaches for fundraising priorities, institutional initiatives and key audiences, translating complex university, research and philanthropic priorities into accessible and persuasive communications. This includes developing cases for support, campaign narratives, messaging frameworks and other strategic communications materials.

You will advise stakeholders on positioning, messaging, tone and communications approaches, and partner with fundraising teams and faculties from the early stages of projects to shape narrative and content direction. You will ensure communications are accurate, consistent and aligned with the NUS Giving brand and wider institutional context, while identifying and managing potential communications sensitivities.

You will source and conduct interviews with donors, beneficiaries, faculty members, staff and partners, turning interviews, research and source materials into engaging written, visual and multimedia content. This may include donor stories, web content, campaign copy, speeches, reports, proposals and email communications.

You will adapt strategic narratives across digital, social, email, print, video and in-person channels; create or adapt visual and multimedia content such as social media assets, short-form videos, presentations, infographics and simple animations; and repurpose strong content to extend its reach and value. Audience insights and content performance data should inform future communications.

You will also help strengthen the team’s creative and editorial capability by managing projects from briefing and research through concept development, production, review and delivery. This includes developing templates and editorial resources, working with external partners when specialist expertise is required, and thoughtfully applying AI and emerging tools to research, drafting, editing and content production while critically reviewing outputs for accuracy and authenticity.
