Applications are sought for a committed Post-doctoral Research Fellow to work with Dr Rachel Sippy conducting research for a STAIRS funded project entitled “Who bears the burden of antibiotic resistance in East Africa? Mathematical modelling of socioeconomic disadvantage and resistance.” The primary duties will be to develop a mechanistic model to describe transmission of antibiotic-resistant pathogens among different socio-economic groups.

The successful applicant will hold or be close to completing a PhD (Post-doctoral Research Fellow) in Epidemiology, Computer Science, Mathematical Biology, Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field with expertise in building mechanistic models for health-related outcomes.

The post is available for 10.5 months starting as soon as possible thereafter.

*Appointment at grade 5 (salary £28,762-£34,308) will be considered for candidates with less experience/knowledge of the area with the job description to be amended accordingly.
