George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science and Technology in Targu Mures announces the availability of two vacancies for Senior Researcher in the 101136244 — HORIZONHLTH-2023-TOOL-05 21 project „Health virtual twins for the personalised management of stroke related to atrial fibrillation"-TARGET, funded by HORIZON Europe Candidates will be part of a project team that aims to develop novel personalised, integrated, multi-scale computational models (virtual twins) and decision-support tools for the AF-related stroke pathway, starting from the healthy state, pathophysiology and disease onset, progression, treatment and recovery. The project aims to help prevent AF and AFRS, optimise acute management and rehabilitation, reduce long-term disability, provide a better quality of life for patients and caregivers, and lower healthcare costs. New observational data will be collected via 4 carefully designed prospective clinical studies, which will be used to test and validate the personalised tools and the virtual twin models using a clinical trial simulation (virtual/in-silico), to demonstrate evidence of clinically meaningful results. The project will also help consolidate existing mechanistic virtual twin models of the heart, the brain and the neuromusculoskeletal system, enriching these twins to deliver more complex tasks, and supporting research to move towards a more integrated human virtual twin. It is a milestone project to improve the care and rehabilitation of patients with AF and AFRS, introducing a paradigm shift in risk prediction, diagnosis and management of the disease, and accelerating translational research into practice

Skills/Qualifications

Candidates will have higher education and PhD in Medicine. Advanced knowledge of clinical cardiology and related interventions (cardiac imaging, interventional treatment of cardiovascular diseases including cardiac arrythmia, cardiac rehabilitation) is desirable. Fluency in English is a must. The candidate must be able to work independently and continue to participate in the development of the project and the methods developed together with the other team members. Requirements: - university studies completed with a bachelor's degree -PhD in Medicine - minimum 3 years cordoning activity experience; - organizational and planning skills; - capacity for analysis and synthesis; - the ability to prioritize the assigned tasks and to respect the deadlines; - teamwork skills; - ability to motivate; - team coordination skills; - PC operation: Word, Excel, Power Point, internet
