Summary: A research position for 1 (one) Research Initiation Grant ("Bolsa de Iniciação à Investigação ") is open at Instituto de Telecomunicações, in the scope of the project 2-3SST2018-20, funded by the European Commission Horizon 2020 Programme.

Work Objectives: - Analysis of source extraction and detection pipelines used in wide field of view (WFOV) deep sky images for Gravitational waves optical counterparts. - Development of Automated processing pipeline for sources detection from CCD images. - Application to WFOV optical telescope for space debris monitoring. The prototype pipeline should be tuned for ground- and space-based observing scenarios.

Place of work: The work will be developed at the premises of Instituto de Telecomunicações at University of Aveiro, under the supervision of Dr. Domingos Barbosa.

Duration: 12 months, with the possibility of renewal until the end of the project. Start date: December 2021 or soon thereafter.
