for a position of full-time research and teaching assistant professor
in the discipline of literary studies
in the Institute of Polish Literature

Contest Committee carries out the proceedings in accordance with Ordinance no. 106 of the Rector of the University of Warsaw dated 27.09.2019 (as amended), Monitor UW 2020, item 388, and the Rules of the Faculty of Polish Studies, University of Warsaw, attached to Ordinance no. 13 of the Rector of the University of Warsaw dated 22.01.2020 (Monitor UW 2019, item 42).
The contest is the first stage of the procedure for the employment of academics (as defined in the Statute of the University of Warsaw), and its positive outcome is the basis for further proceedings.
Candidates will be informed about the results of the contest by email.

Skills/Qualifications
The candidates have to conform to the conditions stated in art. 113, and art. 116, section 2, point 3 of the Higher Education and Science Act of 20 July 2018 as well as in par. 119, section 1 of the Statute of the University of Warsaw (Monitor UW 2019, item 190).
Requirements:
- PhD in humanities in the discipline of literary studies.
- Higher education (bachelor's or master's degree) in cultural studies and Polish philology.
- Academic achievements in research on the children’s and youth’s literature or popular literature, as well as publication on the topics in papers included in ‘List of scientific journals and peer-reviewed materials from international conferences’ of the Ministry of Education and Science. The author's monograph dedicated to the above-mentioned problems, published in a publishing house included in the ‘List of publishers issuing peer-reviewed scientific monographs’ of the Ministry of Education and Science will be an asset.
- Didactic experience in higher education institution, including conducting classes on popular literature as well as children’s and youth’s literature.
- International experience; participation in at least one research grant funded by a European Union body or a foreign institution; at least one research internship under a research scholarship from a foreign entity.
- Willingness to conduct active research, including: participating in domestic and international conferences, regular publishing research findings (especially in highly scored publications and journals included in the lists of the Ministry of Education and Science), cooperation with other research institutes domestically and internationally, raising funding for research (e.g. grants from National Science Centre, Ministry of Education and Science etc.).
- Willingness to conduct classes in the Polish language – both proprietary and included in syllabuses of the Faculty of Polish Studies of the University of Warsaw – especially on popular literature as well as children’s and youth’s literature; continuously improve professional skills and competencies in teaching; tutor students.
- Willingness to take organisational functions and responsibilities, especially those resulting from current needs of the Faculty of Polish Studies and related to research or education conducted in the Faculty.
