Łukasiewicz Research Network – PORT Polish Center for Technology Development is a Research Institute within the Łukasiewicz Research Network. It focuses on development of new technologies, resulting from basic and applied research, which, in turn, serve as a basis for innovative solutions for the industry. With high-class specialists and state-of-art infrastructure, we provide capacity for the most advanced research. Our Institute consists of three research centers – Life Sciences & Biotechnology Center, Materials Science & Engineering Center and Center for Population Diagnostics, with access to specialized core laboratories – a combination, which allows to carry out both, scientific research and pilot studies for the industry in a comprehensive manner.

POST DOC in the Synaptogenesis Research Group
Synaptogenesis group is a laboratory conducting multidisciplinary research on skeletal muscles, neuromuscular junctions, and the brain. Our laboratory is multicultural with half of the lab members coming from abroad. We are committed to conduct innovative research on the best international level. Our resent publication Rojek K. et al., „Amot and Yap1 regulate neuronal dendritic tree complexity and locomotor coordination in mice” published in Plos Biology 2019 May 1;17(5):e3000253 has been awarded with prestigious Konorski Award for the best publication in neuroscience in Poland published in 2019.

The research and doctoral thesis will be carried out as part of the research project: “Functions of Amotl2 protein in the central nervous system”, commissioned by the National Science Center (grant Opus no. 2022/45/B/NZ3/03688).

Major responsibilities:
- planning experiments and analysis of the obtained results;
- analysis of protein and mRNA expression levels;
- analysis of interactions between proteins;
- studies on synaptic protein localization;
- analysis of neuronal morphology;
- cooperation in preparation of scientific figures.;
Ideal candidates should have:
- Only a person who does not hold a doctoral degree and is not a doctoral school participant may enter the competition;
- A person with knowledge of molecular biology and neuroscience is welcome;
- Experience in laboratory work in the field of biology especially in cell biology, biochemistry, or neuroscience;
- Have excellent organizational skills;
- Ability to work in a team;
- Very good English (both written and spoken);
- Experience in neuroscience, muscle research, and in mouse studies will be additional benefit.
