COMPETITION
FOR THE POSITION OF AN ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
(within a group of research and teaching staff, field: security studies)
AT THE FACULTY OF POLITICAL SCIENCE
AND INTERNATIONAL STUDIES
(Centre for the Study of Trafficking in Human Beings)
The candidate should meet the conditions set out in the Law on Higher Education and Science of 20 July 2018 (Journal of Laws 2020, item 85, as amended) and in the UW Statute (Resolution No. 443 of the UW Senate of 26 June 2019 on the adoption of the UW Statute, Monitor UW of 2019, item 190).
Prerequisites:
 Education: at least a PhD in Social Science in law, sociology, political science or security studies.
 Research interests in the protection of human rights, including respect for dignity and equal treatment, international law, combating human trafficking, migration policy, the European Union legal system.
 Knowledge of international relations, with a particular focus on European issues will be an asset.
 Experience in national and international scientific initiatives in the field of: legal, social or security studies will be an asset.
 Teaching experience in security studies, human rights and criminology.
 Research output, including scientific publications and participation in conferences, and teaching experience in human rights, security and criminology.
 Fluent command of spoken and written Polish and English.
Tasks:
 Creating a system for collecting knowledge on trafficking in human beings and forced labour in Poland and Europe (a national repository).
 Conducting independent research activities in the field of crime, security, human trafficking and forced labour, migration, the situation of foreigners, people smuggling.
 Writing research grant proposals on human trafficking, forced labour, migration and people smuggling.
 Conducting classes in the fields of security sciences, human rights and criminology.
 Participating in national and international conferences and seminars, preparation of scientific publications.
 Supporting the Centre Manager in all scientific initiatives prepared and undertaken.
Required documents:

2. photocopy of the doctoral diploma,
3. list of publications in the fields of security studies, human rights and criminology,
4. documents confirming participation in research projects,
5. documents confirming experience in conducting classes in the field of security, human rights and criminology in Polish,
6. proof of language skills in the form of language certificates,
7. academic Curriculum Vitae (Résumé),

a) personal questionnaire for the applicant for employment;
b) signed notice on the processing of personal data
c) declaration that, in the event of employment, the University will be the candidate's primary place of employment,
9. declaration in which the candidate confirms that they have read and accept the rules governing competitions for the position of academic teacher at the University of Warsaw
The competition is the first stage of the procedure for hiring for the position of an academic teacher, as specified in the UW Statutes, and its positive outcome constitutes a basis for further proceedings.
The applicants will be notified by email of the results of the competition.
The documents should be submitted by regular mail or in person at the Dean's Office of the Department, Auditorium Building, ul. Krakowskie Przedmieście 26/28, pok. [room] 216 by 10 February 2024. The competition will be resolved by 01 March 2024.
