The Centre of Materials and Manufacturing Technologies (CMW) specializes in materials designing, manufacturing, shaping, machining and testing in the following areas: iron, cobalt and nickel alloys, non-ferrous metal alloys, mould technologies, computer-aided technologies, additive manufacturing technologies, sintering techniques, metal cutting and tooling, high temperature investigations and corrosion tests.

Scope of tasks performed at the workplace:

Applying for scientific projects from external sources (domestic and foreign).

Establishing business contacts with industry in Poland and abroad, creating scientific cooperation with foreign research units in the area of ​​materials engineering, with particular emphasis on high-temperature corrosion research.

Expanding international cooperation, creating new areas related to high-temperature corrosion research.

Dissemination of the results of research work carried out in the area of ​​corrosion research, through scientific publications and participation in scientific conferences.

Preparation of research results to meet the needs of business practice.

Participation in implementation activities and commercialization of developed technological solutions.

Conducting work in the form of training, technical advice and preparation of expert opinions.

Master Degree or equivalent

Skills/Qualifications

Education: doctoral degree and 2 years of experience in the research and development sector or master's degree and 3 years of experience in the research and development sector, including participation in the implementation of research projects.

Preferred candidates with a PhD in materials engineering, with particular emphasis on research related to high-temperature corrosion processes.

Extensive knowledge of degradation processes supported by publications in international journals with a high impact factor.

Good knowledge of thermodynamic processes, kinetic calculations, statistics related to degradation processes at high temperatures, knowledge of the degradation of metallic alloys and protective coatings.

Knowledge of using Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) devices

Operation of devices related to scientific research related to high-temperature degradation processes (high-temperature furnaces, TGA devices) materials analysis devices: SEM/EDS + XRD, principles of their operation.

Very good knowledge of English, written and spoken.

Knowledge of national and European sources of financing scientific research.

Declaration of the main place of employment in the Łukasiewicz Research Network - Krakow Institute of Technology.
