The Laboratory of Molecular and Cellular Bases of Nutraceutical Strategies of the Department of Medical Biology and Genetics of Faculty of Biology at the University of Gdansk seeks applicants for Assistant Professor position.

Skills/Qualifications

A candidate for the position should have:

  • PhD in biological sciences ;
  • practical and theoretical knowledge of molecular biology, cell biology, human genetics, human genetic and autoimmune diseases;  
  • experience in research in the field of molecular biology of prokaryotic and eukaryotic (including human) cells; 
  • documented experience in research on gene expression in eukaryotic cells, including high throughput genome activity analysis and RT-qPCR; 
  • significant scientific achievements documented by publications in distinguished national and international scientific journals; 
  • experience in international cooperation, documented by internships in foreign research centres; 
  • experience in obtaining funds for scientific research and in the implementation of national research projects; 
  • experience and ability to work in a team;  
  • documented participation in scientific courses and conferences, including international ones; 
  • experience in conducting didactic classes, as well as supervision of BSc and MSc students; 
  • good communicative Polish and English that enables preparation and conduction of classes in Polish or English.
