Offer Description
We are looking for a creative and skilled person with main expertise in the development of separation technologies using solid sorbents. You must be able to document experimental and/or modelling experience within solid sorbent-based gas or solution-based separation technologies. The candidate should have experience in materials science, particularly with powder materials that can act as solid sorbents for separation purposes. Ability to develop and execute dynamic mathematical models of processes using solid sorbents such as reactors and separation units is also preferred. Finally, some background with pressure swing adsorption processes and/or reactor design is also an advantage.

Skills/Qualifications
To apply for the position, the candidate must have a PhD. We are preferably looking for a person with a few years' experience after completing their PhD, but recently qualified people can also apply. Your main tasks and responsibilities will most likely be:
- Performing or supervising experimental analyses of sorption equilibria (isotherms) and sorption kinetics.
- Performing or supervising experimental reactor testing activity in order to validate simulation results.
- Development of dynamic mathematical models and simulation of sorbent-based separation processes in Matlab.
- Be active in project acquisition within the national and/or international research market and towards relevant industry.
- Build-up and maintenance of academic and industrial networks.
You will join the Research Group Process Chemistry and Functional Materials in Oslo, a research group consisting of almost 30 researchers and engineers having competence from synthetic organic chemistry, via inorganic chemistry and physical chemistry to chemical engineering. Our project portfolio is divers, ranging from collaborative projects funded by the Research Council of Norway or the European Commission to direct industry projects. We collaborate with many groups, both national (UiO and NTNU) and international, with the aim of increasing our relevance for Norwegian and international industry.
