The announced position is part of the UiO Convergence Environment Novel personalized management strategies for fibrosing diseases (FibroPET), which is headed by Dr. Revheim. Convergence environments are interdisciplinary research groups that will aim to solve grand challenges related to health and environment. They are funded by UiO's interdisciplinary strategic area UiO:Life Science www.uio.no/life-science . 

The overall purpose of the FibroPET convergence environment is to develop personalized management strategies including early identification, treatment, monitoring, patient dialogue and outcome assessment in patients with fibrosing diseases.

We aim to create a collaborative design-hub and partnership communication to support patients with fibrosing diseases through their journey - from diagnosis to disease management. This project will set the foundation, by allowing the partnering of experts in radiochemistry, molecular imaging, fibrosing diseases and educational sciences to provide clinicians and patients with better decision-making and communication tools. By combining breakthrough molecular fibrosis imaging with schemes for tailored treatment and communication, the goals are to improve the course of the disease and treatment outcome of patients with fibrosing diseases.

The research group of Dr. Hoffmann-Vold overall mission is to enable highly competitive translational and clinical research to foster the initiation of new clinical trials and translation of novel achievements into clinical use, benefiting patients with fibrotic and inflammatory rheumatic diseases.
