Offer Description

We are looking for candidates whose project contributes to one or more of work packages 2, 3, 4 or 5 . The overall aim of Dynamic Territory is to lay down a normative framework for territory in a global context where geographic, climatic, and demographic conditions are no longer stable, predictable, and fixed, but constantly changing.

Topics that the postdoctoral research fellow might explore include, but are not limited, to: ecosystem-based approaches and place-based management and their role in territorial governance; justice in relocation for individuals/communities who will lose their territories as a result of climate change; the role of indigenous worldviews in the conservation of Global Public Goods; polycentric governance of Global Public Goods, and how it harmonizes (or not) with traditional conceptions of sovereignty; nonhuman animals as territorial agents; the political and legal representation of the nonhuman natural world in territorial governance; and normative approaches to migration in the context of global climate change.

The research may be in geography, international law, philosophy, political theory, or other relevant related disciplines or interdisciplinary approaches (e.g. environmental studies). Preference will be given to applicants with an interdisciplinary background within the relevant related disciplines. The successful candidate is expected to produce four peer-reviewed articles.
