Postdoctoral Fellow related to project EDUCATE (ref 224337)

Updated: almost 2 years ago
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 16 May 2022

The primary objective of the EDUCATE project is to examine the implementation of the new curricular reform in Norway (LK20) in primary and secondary education using a comparative perspective across LK20 and the former curriculum reform (LK06). EDUCATE focuses on three thematic areas: (a) life skills, (b) digital competence, and (c) exploratory competence. EDUCATE aims to develop understanding of how teachers include these areas in a range of school subjects (Norwegian, English, foreign languages, mathematics, religion, science, and social studies). We aim to carry out systematic video observations of classroom teaching in the same classes over time, combined with surveys, interviews and student work.

EDUCATE consists of researchers with expertise within the fields of school development, teachers’ professional development and classroom research. The project group comprises researchers with different interdisciplinary backgrounds and offers an internationally oriented and stimulating research environment, with a connection to research communities in classroom research, teacher education and school leadership. In addition, two public sector Ph.D. projects are connected to EDUCATE. The EDUCATE project is situated within the research groups SISCO  (Studies of Instruction across Subjects and Competences) and TEPEC  (Teachers’ Professional Development and Educational Change) at the Department of Education, Faculty of Educational Sciences, University of Oslo. Applicants are encouraged to signal which research group is preferable for them.
