Job description

The University of Stavanger invites applicants for a position as Postdoctoral Fellow in Sustainability Education/Science Education at the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Humanities, Department of Education and Sports Science. The position is vacant from 1. August, 2024.

The person appointed will be affiliated with Sustainable Futures in Higher Education (SuFu), a strategic program area at IGIS, which seeks to expand the theoretical and practical understanding of how environmental and sustainability thinking/practices can be integrated into higher education, particularly in teacher education.

Research Themes                                                                                        SuFu aims to understand how strategic initiatives taken by higher education institutions regarding green transition and sustainability integration spread within the institution, with a specific focus on teacher education. Methodologically, the focus will be on qualitative and quantitative case studies internally at UiS and comparative investigations across multiple comparable higher education institutions. Possible indicators of such propagation could range from developments in teaching and research practices at the institution to changes in students' course choices and subsequent career choices and practices.
