About the position

NORA aims to build a stronger Norwegian culture of innovation within artificial intelligence, and we are announcing a position as Innovation and Industry Coordinator (Senior Adviser). You will be responsible for innovation-related tasks (NORA.startup ) and supporting our partners in their business collaborations and coordination of research-driven innovation between universities, research institutions, startups, and industry.

About NORA

Artificial intelligence now has a high focus in society in general and is a focus area for the government. The field is well-suited for innovation. Research collaboration with the business sector and industry, focus on innovation and commercialization of technology are increasingly important for educational and research institutions. Our new Innovation and Industry Coordinator will contribute to the success of NORA partners in their collaboration with the business sector in general, and especially in business-oriented research collaboration, the development of innovation projects, and commercialization within the field of artificial intelligence. 
The appointed person will have tasks and responsibilities related to all aspects of this work. NORA has already established the national network NORA.startup, which aims to build a stronger culture of innovation within artificial intelligence in Norway.

NORA – Norwegian Artificial Intelligence Research Consortium – is a broad Norwegian collaboration between 8 universities, 5 university colleges, and 5 research institutes within artificial intelligence, machine learning, and robotics. Our goal is to strengthen Norwegian research, education, and innovation in these fields. Learn more about NORA at https://nora.ai .

Work tasks

• Further expand and develop initiatives between the Norwegian industry, public sector and NORA partners, and develop new meeting places where appropriate.
• Provide information and advice to NORA partners and their researchers regarding collaboration with the business sector, public sector, and startups.
• Coordinate and develop NORA.startup, contribute to building a stronger culture of innovation among NORA partners, and contribute to the establishment and success of more AI startups.
• Coordinate research collaboration between NORA partners and be a contact point for the private sector, public sector and startups.
• In collaboration with a communications advisor, contribute to internal and external information and communication work, and assist in organizing events.
• Establish and follow up on innovation and business collaborations for students and facilitate internship programs.

The tasks will be varied, and good collaboration skills and ability to work independently are required. You will have the responsibility to complete tasks independently and be a resource for the management team. The appointed person will work closely with the CEO. The position may involve some travel.

Qualification requirements

• Education from university or college equivalent to at least master's level in a relevant field: for example, entrepreneurship, innovation and business, or artificial intelligence. Relevant work experience related to the specific tasks of the position may replace the educational requirement.
• A minimum  of 3 years of experience working with startups, innovation projects, or in business is required.
• Fluent oral and written communication skills in English.

It is an advantage if you have :

• Experience with startups and/or commercialization processes within the technology sector
• Experience from communication work
• Background in artificial intelligence
• Experience with research-driven innovation or establishing collaborations between the business sector, public sector, and academia.
• Doctoral degree
• Good oral and written communication skills in Norwegian.
   

Personal skills

• You must be independent, creative, proactive, and service-minded.
• You are systematic, structured, and thorough.
• You are result oriented with strong implementation skills.

Good collaboration and communication skills will be emphasized.

• salary NOK 667 700 – 745 000 per annum depending on qualifications in a position as Senior Adviser, position code 1364
