The Higher Education Development Centre (HEDC) is an academic department that provides an academic development service to the University by contributing to the development of University policy on teaching, learning and research, as well as offering academic support and advice to staff and students. 

HEDC works in partnership with staff and students to advance, preserve and promote the ideals, knowledge and values of higher education.

The role/Te mahi

We are looking for a Teaching Fellow to provide support in teaching across four of our programmes, under the supervision of the academic colleagues responsible for programme design and delivery.

In this role, you will be required to:
•    Be actively involved in the preparation of teaching materials.
•    Deliver tutorials and workshops.
•    Undertake assessment and administration duties for the four programmes.

Your skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako

You will have expert understanding of teaching and student learning at the tertiary level as well as:
•    A Bachelor’s degree (a PhD would be an advantage).
•    Proven ability to work with students and staff from differing academic and cultural backgrounds, from all departments and divisions, and at all levels of the institution.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This is a permanent, full-time (1 FTE) position based in Dunedin.

The salary range for a Teaching and Professional Practice Fellow Band 1 is $70,692 to $82,008.
