Your Future Role
We are currently seeking a passionate Synthetic Biologist to join our multidisciplinary Biotechnology team. In this role you have the opportunity to work with global experts and see your work implemented at scale.
Utilising non-model organisms that utilise waste streams, our challenge is designing and implementing new product pathways, that will make a real difference for New Zealand. In this unique opportunity you get to work upon multiple projects that span academic through to industry application. You help Scion be leaders in the field.
About You
You are a passionate researcher with a PhD in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field. Your expertise includes developing synthetic biology pipelines, creating tools for high throughput screening, and analysing a range of chemicals produced by genetic modification. Non-model microorganisms are an exciting challenge, and experience with gas microbes would be advantageous. Your blend of interdisciplinary communication skills allows you to collaborate effectively with colleagues across fermentation, analytical, and bioinformatics domains. You love mentoring younger scientists !
