Mō te tūnga | The role

We are looking for an experienced Risk Assessor to join our Risk Assessment and Social Systems group who is able to work across a number of hazards and matrices. This is a full-time, permanent position and will work closely with our clients to deliver on important projects.  This is an expanding capability within the team. Ideally, this person would be based in Christchurch, but we are willing to consider other locations.

In this role you will be involved in:

  • undertaking risk assessment projects in relation to chemical and microbiological hazards in water, food and the environment. 
  • writing major client reports and/or publish in peer reviewed scientific journals, and presenting work via oral presentations at conferences
  • undertaking projects for central and local government, as well as commercial clients
  • working alongside other risk assessors, toxicologists, and epidemiologists in the general area of public health.
  • working in relation to legislative, regulatory and RMA requirements.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • An appropriate postgraduate qualification and significant risk assessment experience as recognised by their peers and clients at a national level
  • Experience working for central or local government
