Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting Senior Programme Coordinator to join the Southeast Asia Centre of Asia-Pacific Excellence (SEACAPE) for a fixed-term contract until June 2023.

The purpose of the SEA CAPE is to prepare New Zealanders to engage with and do business with Southeast Asia markets while supporting and developing New Zealanders’ knowledge and understanding of these markets. The SEA CAPE is one of the three CAPEs operated by a consortium of four universities, including Victoria University of Wellington, University of Auckland, University of Otago and University of Waikato.

Working closely with the Director, the role will be responsible for ensuring that SEA CAPE’s existing portfolio of activities are well executed and further raise SEA CAPE’s profile.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

This role calls for someone with a demonstrated record of coordinating and delivering integrated business, education and public engagement opportunities. You will also have proven experience in engaging with multiple stakeholders, good writing and communications skills, and strong planning skills.

Key requirements:

  • Experienced programme or project coordinator, particularly based in a busy, fluid and multi-faceted environment.
  • Organising, managing and delivering several projects simultaneously, often in time-sensitive situations with proven ability to plan and meet deadlines.
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships at all levels in an organisation and with service providers and external stakeholders.
  • Communicating effectively with all levels in an organisation and with external stakeholders.
