The Department of Nursing is seeking to make a full-time (1.0 FTE) permanent appointment at the Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level. We are seeking individuals with specific expertise in mental health in the Aotearoa context. The successful candidate will have the expertise to enhance our undergraduate and postgraduate curricula, as appropriate. We are committed to the integration of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and cultural competencies into the delivery of our curricula.
The applicant will work alongside students including Māori and Pacific students so a high level of cultural sensitivity is desired, along with knowledge of kawa and tikanga Māori and mātauranga Māori (Māori knowledge).
The successful applicant will actively engage in facilitating the delivery of education at both undergraduate and postgraduate level including the supervision of higher degree students. In addition, they will be expected to:
- support paper leaders to embed content related to mental health and well-being and cultural competence into undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programmes and courses
- work to support the success and progression of Māori students
- applicants will be expected to develop a research and publication portfolio and will embrace the vision and values of the School, as well as a commitment to ongoing professional development supported by the AUT staff development programme.
The successful applicant will:
- Teach across a range of nursing and health programmes, including supervision
- Inspire and support students' achievement
- Develop a strong programme of research
- Contribute to ongoing curriculum development
- Be committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Communicate effectively, and demonstrate a commitment to collaboration and working in a team
- Have competent organisational and IT skills
The start date is to be negotiated.
Salary Range:
Lecturer (Career Path): $82,000 - $99,000 (appointment level and salary commensurate with skills and experience)
Senior Lecturer (Career Path): $101,000 - $134,000 (appointment level and salary commensurate with skills and experience)
