Te āheinga: The opportunity

The Unitec Pathway College (UPC) is responsible for increasing and enhancing Unitec's visibility and reputation to secure prospective students including secondary-aged students and their key influencers through schools/Kura and other avenues.

The UPC team is a high-performing team. They have redefined and significantly improved our relationships with secondary schools and kura kaupapa/kura whānau.

As our Secondary School and Community Liaison you'll effectively partner and manage your relationships with Secondary Schools, Private Training Establishments, Government agencies, community groups and Trades Academies to help drive recruitment of prospective students and increase first-choice consideration through the delivery of a range of activities.

At the heart of your success will be your strong interpersonal skills, and your ability to build and leverage workplace relationships.

You`ll also be able to demonstrate:

  • High energy and drive to engage and inspire individuals and key influencers, motivate large groups, group facilitation skills and experience, particularly with youth.
  • Skills in developing strong and positive relationships with key stakeholders.
  • A strong customer-centric approach.
  • Attention to detail and target driven.
  • Effective written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of tertiary with a relevant qualification.

It is important to us that you have an understanding or desire to learn Te Reo Māori, Tikanga Māori and the values and practices of Kaupapa Māori and a demonstrated understanding of, and, commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
