Operations Team Leader

Deliver leadership, oversight & innovation through our Operations team to enable business success. 

Mō te tūka | The role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced lead for our IT Operations Team.

You will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for leveraging technology to support business deliver on its' objectives. This role offers the opportunity to play a key role in shaping our technology strategy and driving innovation across the organisation.

In this role you will lead and mentor a team of technicians and engineers supporting services and systems delivering a broad range of business systems and applications. This is a unique environment, where the support you provide day to day has a direct impact on our teaching and research success.

This is a permanent role working 37.5 hours per week based at our Lincoln Campus, with opportunities to visit our local farms as required. 
The remuneration range is set at $100,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Relevant tertiary or industry recognised qualifications (e.g. MCSE, MCSA: Cloud Platform, AWS Associate, CCNA).
  • Minimum five years in a senior technical role focused on operational service delivery.
  • Experience working within an ITIL or similar service methodology framework.

Plus, advanced level experience of as many of the following as possible:

  • Cloud Technologies.
  • Software Development Life Cycle - enterprise & web focus.
  • Microsoft platforms including AAD, SQL server, Exchange/O365.
  • Scripting language. E.g. Powershell.
  • HPC particularly Azure.
  • Configuration and management of SaaS environments.
  • Virtual Infrastructure, e.g. VMWare.
  • Linux environments
