Te āheinga: The opportunity

We are looking for a Lecturer - Social Practice to join our team of experienced Social Practice educators committed to excellence in education and student success who can support our goal to be innovative and responsive to the exciting challenges of tertiary education and the Social Practice industry.

In this position, you will teach a number of courses to our Bachelors and Masters students within a framework of

  • Knowledge in Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori.
  • Te Reo Māori ability.
  • Experience working with whānau
  • Knowledge of Te Tiriti
  • Application of 'Ako" and Na te Tuakana Na te Teina.
  • Application of manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, kaitiakitanga and rangatiratanga.

You'll have:

  • To be successful in this position we are looking for you to have a demonstrable application of Ako and Ngāti tukana/Ngati Teina and to be part of a supportive research active team.
  • Hold a Masters or doctoral qualification in Social Work or Social Practice, or in a related field/discipline.
  • Evidence of active engagement in building diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplaces/environments
