Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
We invite applications for a continuing position at the rank of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management (HRM). We seek to appoint an outstanding scholar to contribute to the development and growth of our HRM group within the Management, Marketing & Tourism department (MMT). The MMT department is one of three constituent departments in the UC Business School, and is one of the leading management departments within New Zealand. We seek applications from those who will support the University's strategic mission of 'engaging, empowering and making a difference'. Applicants conducting empirical research across any functional domain within the Human Resources Management field will be considered. However, we are particularly interested in hearing from applicants who have a background in one or more of the following key areas:

  • Strategic Human Resource Management
  • International Human Resource Management
  • HR Analytics/Data Analytic and Human Resources Information Systems

Knowledge of, or expertise in, New Zealand employment legislation and relations is also desirable.

Mōu | Who You Are
Applicants should have Ph.D. in a subject relevant to the position (applicants close to finalising their Ph.D. will also be considered). Applicants should demonstrate a strong record of empirically based publications in internationally recognised high-quality academic journals, some experience in the supervision of thesis students (commensurate with the academic rank being applied for) and have good teaching skills. Some experience in academic leadership and in securing research grants is desirable. Applicants should have experience and/or be willing to teach introductory and advanced courses in Human Resource Management primarily at undergraduate level, with the potential for some postgraduate teaching. Candidates with teaching experience in strategic HRM, international HRM and/or HR analytics will be favourably considered for the position.
You will be comfortable working in situations that require adaptability as we transform our teaching via judicious use of digital technology, and have an open-minded viewpoint that respects biculturalism, diversity, and inclusion.
