Lecturer in Environmental Management (Policy)

Teaching, research and supervision role based in the Department of Environmental Management.

Mō te tūka | The role

The Lecturer in Environmental Management (Policy) will contribute to the Environmental Management Department's mission and purpose through research activities, engagement with other researchers within and outside of Lincoln University, and connections with current or potential end-users of research outputs.

This is a key role to support and disseminate collaborative research within and between Lincoln University and other universities and research institutions. It meets the strategies of Lincoln University by providing excellent research and being an organisation based on meaningful partnerships.

Key tasks of the role include:

  • Initiate, develop and conduct high quality research.
  • Advance and enhance the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Contribute to the supervision of postgraduate students' research.
  • Contribute to the wider functioning of the University.
  • Add to extension and other professional activities related to the discipline.

This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week based at our Lincoln campus. 

Remuneration for this position is as follows:

  • Lecturer: Grade A6, $87,340 - $92,093

Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A completed PhD in political science.
  • Five years of prior social science research work experience
  • Established track record in research publication and/or creative work
  • Proven ability and understanding of working to externally funded research requirements
  • A research agenda
  • Demonstrated evidence of successful teaching in environmental policy at tertiary level
  • Good interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with students and colleagues from a diverse range of backgrounds
  • Demonstrated evidence of good oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with community building, engagement and citizen science
  • Demonstrated evidence of engagement and/or collaboration with colleagues in research
