An exciting role working with ākonga to support learning needs and achievement of education aspirations!
About the role
If you are interested in supporting ākonga needs that occur during the study experience, we invite you to apply for this student facing role.
We work alongside ākonga to provide assistance, advice and āwhina that will support them to continue on their learning journey and be successful.
This is a 0.6 position. Working 22.5 hours per week.
Are you an ideal candidate?
You will have:
- Experience and passion about organisation-wide initiatives to support priority ākonga.
- A strong focus on equitable outcomes especially for priority learners that align to the ākonga journey and ākonga needs.
- A commitment to create a team culture where ākonga / learners are at the centre of decision making.
- An understanding of contemporary barriers to equity for priority learners.
- An approach to work that is systematic and well organised but will also see you flex up and adapt to changes in workflow or priorities as required.
- Highly developed communication and analytical skills.
- A demonstrated understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- Initiative
and be able to direct work on your own while also leading projects and
getting the best out of those with whom you are working.
Teamwork skills, highly developed communication and analytical skills are essential. Experience in the tertiary sector would be an advantage.
