HPC Research Fellow/ Data Scientist

The Human Potential Centre within the School of Sport and Recreation is seeking a talented and highly experienced Research Fellow and Data Scientist to join our dynamic team and give support to the research project goals of two large externally funded research projects. There will also be an expectation to contribute to the wider research goals of the Human Potential Centre. Primarily this role provides support to the Te Hotonga Hapori (MBIE Endeavour Programme) Director and the senior research team, to allow them to achieve research objectives and contracted goals.

A key aspect of this role will be responsible for designing and implementing machine learning algorithms and models to predict and classify patterns in sensor data. The ability to be able to analyse complex data sets, including accelerometer, GPS, and Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) data, to derive actionable insights and drive informed decision-making is essential.

You will hold a PhD or relevant qualification in sport and recreation with a specialisation in Data Science, Computer Science, and Statistics to be considered for this role.

Salary Range: $74,000 - $104,000 (appointment level and salary commensurate with skills and experience)
