Position Overview

We have an opportunity for three accounting professionals to join our College and Support Services Finance Business Partner teams and further develop their careers in an environment of continuous improvement. 

Finance Business Partner – Colleges (two positions)

The College Finance Business Partner Team is responsible for providing comprehensive accounting and finance support to Massey’s five colleges. Colleges are the academic arms of the university, delivering high quality tertiary education for 26,000 students per year and generating world-leading research outputs. These activities create revenue exceeding $500m each year, which makes financial management a critical aspect of their operation. Finance Business Partners support college academic leaders with budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, cost-benefit analysis, financial data modelling and related financial advice. 

Location for these positions on any of our three campuses, Albany (Auckland), Wellington or Manawatū, and will report to the Senior Finance Business Partner - Colleges.

Finance Business Partner – Support Services (one position)

The Support Service Finance Business Partner Team is responsible for providing comprehensive accounting and finance support to Massey’s Support Service and Corporate functions. The current opportunity relates to assisting the Office of the Provost which is responsible for the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and standards that drive the delivery of the University's learning and teaching, research, and enterprise and commercialisation activities. The Finance Business Partner will support the Provost and their direct team with budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, cost-benefit analysis, financial data modelling, and related financial advice.

Location for this position is Manawatū or Wellington Campus with a preference of Manawatū reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner – Planning & Advisory.  

To be successful in the roles, you will bring:

  • 3-5 years’ experience working in management and /or financial accounting in a large organisation.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with large numbers of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with large sets of complex data.
  • Experience in writing financial reports for senior management.
  • An ability to explain financial concepts in simple terms.
