Our programmes include a very successful Bachelor of Business, research, and coursework master's degrees, an MBA, and a PhD. 

The Department of Economics and Finance has a strong research orientation, built on success in publishing in well-ranked international journals and having an applied focus. It provides teaching into undergraduate majors and postgraduate research specialisations in both Economics and Finance, as well as professional/conversion master's degrees in Finance. We provide good research support and have access to major databases. Finance colleagues can work closely with the Auckland Centre for Financial Research (http://www.acfr.aut.ac.nz ).

We are looking for a Lecturer for a permanent position with a focus on research and teaching. This role is best suited to a new PhD or early career academic. Qualified applicants with research interests in any of the main areas of finance will be considered, but applicants with research interests in sustainability, investment management, or research with a strong social impact orientation, as well as candidates with an understanding of Mātauranga Māori will be preferred. We are specifically looking for candidates who have recently received or will soon complete their PhD in Finance. Candidates should have demonstrated potential to publish in well-ranked international journals and an established pipeline of working papers. University-level teaching experience is required.  It is expected that the successful candidate will seek external research funding, engage with business, the professions, and the community, and contribute to Departmental/Business School activities.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $101,000 (appointment level and salary commensurate with skills and experience)
