The role/Te mahi As an electrician with controls experience, you will be responsible for the planning and delivery of high-quality electrical controls work on a wide variety of buildings and spaces across the University campus. You will ensure that all works meet the University’s quality standards and that these works continue to meet all electrical regulatory requirements. The role includes: Your skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako Our electrical unit requires the services of a registered electrician who holds a current practicing licence (including first aid certificate) and driver’s licence. You will have a practical knowledge of PLC controls, energy management systems, equipment and sub-trades relative to the electrical and building industry. TRADE SERVICES
• Repairing, maintaining, altering, or carrying out new electrical/controls or other associated work.
• Contributing to resolution of ongoing code of compliance issues and building warrant of fitness items for Property Services.
• Co-ordinating with Facility Managers on the installation and maintenance of services within buildings.
• Managing the documentation process of As Built’s and operation manuals for all electrical and controls undertakings on the Otago campus.
• Ensuring that University of Otago buildings and utilities are a safe environment in which to study and work.
• Providing technical expertise in the design of specific electrical systems and professional advice to clients on electrical and controls trade matters campus wide.
• Strong communication skills.
• Administrative and written skills.
• The ability to co-ordinate with other trades and contractors.
