PROPERTY SERVICES Te mahi/The role This pivotal leadership role within Property Services is responsible for the daily management, planning, and co-ordination of all Electrical and Controls activity across the University of Otago campus in Dunedin. This opportunity will see you involved in a range of exciting projects, offering variety and diversity of work from commercial, new builds to residential and specialist science laboratories. You will provide professional advice to clients on all Electrical and Controls trade matters, including repair, maintenance, or alteration work, as well as new electrical and controls associated work. Kā pūkeka me kā wheako/Your skills and experience Aside from your leadership and extensive practical experience within all areas of the Electrical and Controls industry, this role requires a professional collaborator, able to build and maintain excellent working relationships with a diverse range of people across multiple disciplines. As a leader responsible for managing and supervising workloads daily, your ability to instill trust, and build an engaged collaborative team operating in compliant, safe work environments will be paramount. You’re a critical thinker and effective communicator, with exceptional organisational skills, which support working to project time frames, and adapting to changing environments. Experience with financial management, cost analysis and running a budget is also required. We deploy, support, and maintain a wide and exciting array of equipment and facilities including state-of-the-art research laboratories, large student accommodation facilities, and a variety of multi-use space from teaching facilities through to restaurant and café venues. TRADE SERVICES
• Current NZ Electrician Registration and current Electrical Practicing Licence.
• Extensive knowledge of the Electrical sector.
• DALI Lighting system experience and management.
• Building Management Systems and BACnet protocol experience.
• Variable Speed Drive installation and programming experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of the Building Act, Electrical standards, regulations, and Health and Safety requirements.
• Experience managing teams.
