The role/Te Mahi

As a member of the Web Experience Team, you will provide effective and efficient assistance and support in maintaining content on the University’s customer-facing digital platforms, particularly the University’s website. Reporting to the Manager Web Experience, you will provide timely content maintenance and service desk support.

In this fast-paced role, you can expect to support University departments and the broader Marketing Services teams with:
•    Fixing broken links.
•    Uploading digital assets to the CMS (PDFs, images, etc.).
•    Amending metadata.
•    Correction of improper formatting.
•    Correction of typos.
•    Minor information updates.
•    Uploading approved new content.
•    Reviewing and approving changes (where applicable).

You will need to analyse and evaluate content maintenance/update requests, ensuring they remain consistent with University of Otago writing style guide(s) and user experience (UX) best practice.

Your skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako

To be successful in this role, you will have:
•    A strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•    Skillfulness in time management, organisation and attention to detail.
•    Proven experience working with and updating websites using content management systems.
•    Previous experience in a busy environment where high levels of customer service delivery is expected.
•    An understanding of New Zealand Government standards and regulations, especially as these relate to tikanga Māori and accessibility. 

Although not necessary for success in this role, knowledge of the tertiary education marketing environment would be beneficial.

We are seeking to fill one full-time (37.5 hours per week), permanent position, based in Dunedin.

We offer competitive salary, 5 weeks’ annual leave, a 6.75% superannuation scheme, and the ability to achieve real work/life balance.
