Mahi Ngātahi | Who You Will Work With
The Research & Innovation Commercial team (the University's Technology Transfer Office) work collaboratively with UC researchers to identify and shape University of Canterbury innovations for transfer into industry and/or the wider community to deliver impact and commercial outcomes. Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
You will support our researchers in achieving exceptional wider world impact from the intellectual property they create.
You will be collaboratively communicating and managing the identification, assessment, development, and transfer of research into industry and/or the wider community.
The role will also provide analytical support for funding applications where freedom to operate, patentability and commercialisation/impact pathways are important considerations.
Mōu | Who You Are
You will have professional experience working in the commercialisation of technology, products, services, or other such investment proposals. Specifically, you need to have:
- Experience in technology or product development (including development of market and commercialisation plans), gained in start-up ventures or technology companies or commercialisation service providers.
- IP management including a sound understanding of protection mechanisms.
Experience in a university context is ideal, however a business or legal qualification teamed with demonstrated experience in a relevant industrial sector will be considered.
