We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive Collections Curator to join our Team.

Skills Required:

  • Experience working in a professional gallery.
  • Appropriate tertiary-level qualification and/or equivalent professional experience in the art and design field.
  • Demonstrate interest in and knowledge of contemporary art and design practices.
  • Knowledge and practice in the principles of equity and diversity with a particular commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and kaupapa Māori led initiatives.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft 365.
  • Experience with content management for websites and other digital platforms.
  • Experience in design for web and print, Adobe Creative Suite.
  • An ability to network effectively and maintain links with current practice in collection management.
  • Communication skills: establish and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of people with the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Strong self-management skills (organisation and time management).
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.

The role provides specialist knowledge to support and curate art on campus at AUT. The role is responsible for overseeing the Arts House Collection as well as growing the AUT Art Collection. The Collections Curator sits within the Vice-Chancellor's Office and is a key member of the Art on Campus Group.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $96,000 Pro-rata (dependent on experience and qualifications)
