Art Collection Curator

Oversee the functional management of the University Art Collection.

Mō te tūka | The role

Take responsibility for the functional management of the University Art Collection.

Based in our Learning, Teaching & Library team, you will be ensuring the Art Collection is preserved for future generations and reflects the teaching, learning and research outcomes of the University.

Some tasks of the role include:

  • Art collection management.
  • Art collection curation, promotion & growth.
  • Management of annual budget.
  • Manage art projects & installation.

This is a permanent, part time role working 18.75 hours per week (0.5 FTE) based at our Lincoln Campus.  The remuneration for this role is fixed at $65,000 - $69,000 per annum, pro rata to part time hours (approx. $33 - $35 per hour).

Kā tino Pūkeka/Whēako | Essential skills/experience for the role

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • An undergraduate qualification in Art History.
  • At least five years' experience in managing and curating collections.
  • Excellent curatorial skills and knowledge of New Zealand art history.
  • Proven ability to effectively and efficiently manage multiple priorities, with competing deadlines.
  • Experience working with galleries, museums and other collecting institutions.
  • Experience with project management.
