Would you like to tell stories of how science and scientists are making a difference to Aotearoa New Zealand?
We're looking for maternity cover for one of our close-knit, award-winning team. You'll be part of a wider marketing team including photographers, designers and events management, who work together to share how Plant & Food Research delivers on its mission of a Smart Green Future, Together.

What you will be doing | Ngā whāinga matua
We're looking for a storyteller - someone who can tell the stories of our research and our people to raise awareness and understanding of Plant & Food Research.
No two days will be the same - you might be writing case studies for our website one day, creating video snippets for our social media the next, while answering media queries in between. You'll spend time travelling the motu, speaking to our scientists and helping them share their mahi with the world.

What you will bring | Ngā tino pūkenga me ngā wheako
To be successful in this role, the minimum requirements are:
• Three years' experience in communications, public relations or journalism
• Demonstrated experience of delivering multimedia communications content
• Excellent writing skills
• Established network with the New Zealand media
• Ability to travel domestically, and internationally if required.
It would also be advantageous to have some knowledge of science or the food sector, and some knowledge of Te Ao Māori.
