Job description

Innovation Space & Challenge-Based Learning

TU/e innovation Space is the center of expertise for Entrepreneurial Learning and Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) at TU/e, and a learning hub for building and connecting open interdisciplinary thematic communities for co-creation of responsible solutions to real world-challenges by students together with researchers, industry, and societal organizations. This is done within the region (Brainport), on a national level (alliance with other Dutch Universities), and on an international level via the EuroTeQ Engineering University .

One of the key initiatives of the EuroTeQ Engineering University, the EuroTeQ Collider , offers students the opportunity to work alongside external partners on specific challenges and acquire new competencies. This innovative, Challenge-Based Learning experience invites participants to work in an international and interdisciplinary environment and contribute in developing solutions to real-life challenges. TU/e innovation Space leads the Collider work package.

Position within the organization

Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) is an internationally leading technical university. We educate students and advance knowledge in science & technology for the benefit of humanity. We integrate education and research to enable our students and scientists to become thought leaders and to design and achieve the unimaginable. In close collaboration with our public and private partners, we translate our basic research into meaningful solutions.

In the role of coordinator International Entrepreneurial Learning Experiences you are part of TU/e innovation Space, and more specifically of the Entrepreneurship Cluster within our core team. You also work closely together with colleagues within the Education Cluster of the General Affairs service who lead the overall EuroTeQ project, colleagues of the Business Collaboration Cluster of TU/e innovation Space who collect challenges and work with a diverse partner network, , and colleagues at The Gate, platform for tech startups in the Brainport region.  The position is in principle for 3 years.

What do we ask of you?

We are looking for a project leader for this work package, who coordinates this unique international Challenge-Based Learning experience from within TU/e innovation Space at the Eindhoven University of Technology. By leading this project, you will bring the entrepreneurial learning experiences for our students to the next level.

An entrepreneurial mindset is a key attitude for the engineer of the future, essential in Challenge Based Learning, and key in the learning goals of a student at TU/e. Next to facilitating ‘narrow’ entrepreneurship, focused on the launching and running of new businesses/start-ups, we also aim to support developing an entrepreneurial mindset in terms of value creation for society.

The role of the work package lead includes coordinating and setting up the execution of the action plan, together with the international partners. Doing this, you are also a  key player in the local activities related to entrepreneurial experiences, like the TU/e Contest, our local entrepreneurship competition, early stage startup activities, the thematic learning area on entrepreneurship in our Bachelor College. You are also connected to other entrepreneurial learning activities on TU/e campus, like courses on entrepreneurial learning, or the European Venture Program that aim to strengthen entrepreneurial competences of TU/e students and support the establishment of synergies between different TU/e stakeholders involved in entrepreneurship learning.

Execution of the work package also involves enhancing the interdisciplinarity and diversity of stakeholders, promote co-creation among the partners, and develop towards thematic ecosystems with researchers, but also societal and industrial partners. These activities can be reinforced by collaborating with initiatives on developing thematic communities in TU/e innovation Space.

Job requirements

For this role, we are looking for an experienced project manager. You are able to think and plan, but also execute. You can adapt to changing circumstances, work effectively under pressure, and can solve problems quickly and effectively. Since this is a European project, with a lot of stakeholders with different backgrounds, you must have a proven track record on stakeholder management, preferably in an international context. You are passionate and knowledgeable about entrepreneurship/ innovation and learning, and eager to share this enthusiasm with others.

  • Team player: able to work collaboratively with colleagues and partners to achieve shared goals.
  • Strong communicator: possesses excellent interpersonal skills and can communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders; excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Result oriented: able to achieve the goals of the Collider and TU/e related to entrepreneurial learning experiences.
