The department of Architectural Engineering + Technology wants to welcome new colleagues at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor.

Delft University of Technology invites applications for faculty positions at the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, specifically in the Department of Architectural Engineering & Technology. The positions are set to commence in Summer 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter, with appointments available at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

  • Candidates must possess a Ph.D. when applying and preferably have some post-doctoral experience.
  • Ideally the candidates’ background is in Architectural Engineering or a related field, such as Architecture or Civil Engineering; or in other academic fields with demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge to the field of Architectural Engineering.
  • We particularly welcome applications from individuals with research and teaching interests crossing various areas relevant to Architectural Engineering & Technology, who can contribute to a design focused department and impact the societal challenges of climate change, shortage of raw materials and urban inequality that provide direction to the faculty’s education and research.
  • Among others, we strongly encourage applications along innovative directions in: Modern and Recent Heritage; and/or Data-driven / Computational Architecture & AI; and/or Digital Technologies for Heritage; and/or Health & Comfort.
  • We specifically seek candidates with demonstrated ability in acquiring (near and far future) external funding.
  • Our new colleague is envisioned to think strategically, be proactive in identifying and implementing opportunities for the department.
  • We are looking for a colleague with a strategic overview across different specialisms, capable of connecting content-wise.
  • We are a department that rewards teamwork, thus social skills such as sharing knowledge and flexibility, a commitment to collegiality, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines are also expected.

The employment contract is for 18 months with the prospect of a permanent contract.
The positions are for a 32 to 40 hours working week.

Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities. A salary based on scale 11/12/13/14, depending on the candidate's work experience and expertise, and based on a fulltime employment, is:
• Assistant Professor:
Scale 11 (minimum of €4.332,- and maximum of €5.929,-.)
Scale 12 (minimum of €5.247,- and maximum of €6.737,-.)
• Associate Professor::
Scale 13 (minimum of €6.002,- and maximum of €7.305,-.)
Scale 14 (minimum of €6.305,- and maximum of €8.025,-)
