The department of Architectural Engineering + Technology wants to welcome new colleagues at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor.

We invite candidates for faculty positions starting summer 2023. The appointment will be at Assistant or Associate Professor level. In exceptional cases, an appointment at Professor level may be possible, as well as part-time appointments for excellent senior candidates from architectural practice. Our new colleagues must have a Ph.D. in Architectural Engineering or in a related field such as Architecture or Civil Engineering by the start of employment. Applicants with research and teaching interests in every area relevant to the field of Architectural Engineering & Technology will be considered, especially candidates with research expertise in heritage, computational architecture and artificial intelligence, circularity and sustainable materials and design.

All strong candidatesin Architectural Engineering & Technology fields are encouraged to apply. The responsibilities of the successful applicant will include: advising PhD students, teaching and developing courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as developing an externallyfunded research program and enabling activities in-service to the university and the profession.

You will be supported with outstanding laboratory and office space. You will also be assigned a senior faculty mentor who will support you in your professional development.

The successful candidates for this position have:

  • A Ph.D. in Architectural Engineering or in a related field such as Architecture or Civil Engineering by the start of employment.
  • Research and teaching interests in any area relevant to the field of Architectural Engineering & Technology, preferably research expertise in heritage, computational architecture and artificial intelligence, circularity or sustainable materials and design
  • Preferably experience in the management of research projects, grant proposal writing, and supervision of PhD students.
  • Experience in supervising students and the ability to motivate students.
  • Strong cooperation and communication skills.
  • A demonstrated proficiency in the written and spoken use of the English language as well as the willingness to learn Dutch.

The employment contract is for 18 months with the prospect of a permanent contract.
The positions are for a 32 to 40 hours working week.

Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities. A salary based on scale 11/12/13/14, depending on the candidate's work experience and expertise, and based on a fulltime employment, is:
•    Assistant Professor:
Scale 11 (minimum of €3.974,- and maximum of €5.439,-.)
Scale 12 (minimum of €4.814,- and maximum of €6.181,-.)
•    Associate Professor::
Scale 13 (minimum of €5.506,- and maximum of €6.702,-.)
Scale 14 (minimum of €5.784,- and maximum of €7.362,-)
