The position

We are looking for an enthusiastic Learning Support Expert with experience in IT system support and/or educational support processes. Within the Education area, our agile Learning Support product team is responsible for the support of the Learning environment (Learning Management System, Online Portfolio Tool, Quality Assurance, Feedback tooling, Plagiarism Prevention software etc.) and supporting the continuous improvement and innovation in education.  

As a Learning Support Expert, you’ll be working in the agile product team Learning Support, part of the Product Area Education within the department of Library and Information Services, LIS. Within this product team, you will be working with various disciplines on the Learning processes within education. Outside your team, you will also be working closely together with other product teams within the field of education (Assessment support, Student & Education Logistics, Hybrid Education & Audiovisual Support), educationalist experts, architecture, privacy and security and of course business representatives from our faculties.   

As a Learning Support Expert, you will: 

  • Assess business needs regarding the current and future learning environment and translate these into functional requirements. 
  • Assess impact analysis for Request for Change calls, based on business needs and requirements.  
  • Support the analysis and improvements of existing learning support processes. 
  • Translate educational processes to functionalities and technical specifications of our tools. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with the key users, and other business representatives. 
  • Keep in touch with technical experts, both internally and from suppliers. 
  • Take care of the functional management and support on educational tools (2nd line support). 
  • Design and/or support interfaces between systems. 
  • Participate in educational innovation projects/implementation of new tools. 

Job requirements

Are you a hands-on professional with an affinity for education? Then we look forward to receiving your application. Particularly, if you recognize the following characteristics in yourself: 

  • HBO / University work and thinking level. 
  • 3 or more years of experience in a technical and/or educational working environment 
  • Professional written and spoken communication skills in Dutch and English. 
  • Proactive/hands-on work approach, and ability to work independently. 
  • You familiarize yourself quickly with new systems and can be a technical sparring partner for colleagues and suppliers. 
  • Process and conceptual thinker: Result-oriented, Analytical and critical. 
  • Systemic way of working. 
  • Organizational sensitivity.  
  • Engaging team player with enthusiasm, who is highly customer focused. 
  • Knowledge of learning tools (e.g., Canvas, Evalytics, Turnitin, Feedback fruits) is a plus. 

Conditions of employment

An exciting position within an international yet personal university. You are right in the middle of the students, on a green campus within walking distance of the central station. We also offer you: 

  • A monthly salary of minimum €3377,- to maximum €5090,- for full-time employment, depending on your knowledge and experience (salary scale 9 to 10, depending on the level of seniority of the candidate, in accordance with the collective labour agreement for Dutch Universities). 
  • In addition to vacation pay, also a structural end-of-year bonus of 8.3% (one extra month).
