Job description

Are you passionate about delivering high quality support for educational tools? Would you like to work in a dynamic and innovative environment in an international team? Are you a team player in a matrix of stakeholders who also takes ownership? If your answers are yes, then this could be your next position!

The TU/e Vision 2030 gives direction for the development of our education. Educational Tools (EdTech) are an important enabler of this development. The growing EdTech tool landscape requires continuous innovation. The challenge in innovation projects is to involve various stakeholders as partners, in order to proactively offer solutions for our teachers, and to keep the tool landscape manageable, secure, and transparent.

The Key User Educational Tools is a new role within the Teacher Support & Quality Assurance (TS&QA) team. You have a key role between educational development officers and the IT department. In this position you:

  • Are the key user for various educational tools, flexing as needed within the fast-paced environment and shifting priorities of the educational tool landscape
  • Partner effectively with our IT department to discuss priorities, how to engage with suppliers, and when new releases should be implemented
  • Support our departmental teacher supporters directly, and occasionally teachers, related to various educational tools
  • Identify which are the latest development in tools that will provide the best learning experience for TU/e students and communicate this to our stakeholders
  • Investigate how to improve processes and how to implement innovative solutions
  • Keep your stakeholders informed of the latest developments related to educational tools, taking both an inside-out and outside-in perspective

As the Key User Educational Tools, you will be part of a team of highly motivated and professional educational experts helping TU/e teachers to design and innovate their education. Our mission is to play a key role in the development towards the TU/e Vision 2030 and provide high-quality educational solutions that are always up to date. TS&QA offers support for a wide range of educational tools. Most important of these are our Learning Management System (Canvas), its various plug-ins (e.g., FeedbackFruits), and our tools for digital assessment (currently Ans and Sowiso). Based on your experience, we will decide which tools you will start working with.

Depending on strategic priorities of TU/e or the team, in the future additional or alternative tasks and projects may be part of your tasks.

Job requirements
  • Information Technology, or related studies.
  • Prior working experience is not a strict requirement for this position. We invite candidates from all levels of experience to apply.
  • Strong affinity with educational development, educational technologies, and educational tools.
  • Experience in project and/or process management in (higher) education is a plus.
  • A hands-on mentality and support-oriented attitude.
  • An excellent command of the English and Dutch language, both spoken and written. The team is international, so feeling comfortable working in English and within multiple national and cultural contexts, is important. In coordination meetings with other universities (e.g., within SURF), the spoken language is usually Dutch.

If this job excites you, but you are concerned that you don’t meet all the requirements sufficiently, then please be sure to respond. We would love to look at your profile.
