Imagine witnessing the evolution of the internet at the faculty that built DelftBlue, one of the world’s fastest supercomputers. Or supporting the researchers who are mapping disease processes using single-cell data. At TU Delft’s Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS)we find solutions for major societal challenges using sustainable technology. Join us as a data steward to participate in innovations shaping the future of technology and society.
At TU Delft, we have data stewards embedded at every faculty to support our data management needs across the campus. As part of the EEMCS support staff, you’ll work with the existing faculty data steward and report to the faculty manager. Here, you will be in close contact with researchers, research project data managers and PhD candidates. Within EEMCS you’ll be training researchers, identifying new developments and advising management. You will also explore and analyse trends in research data and software management specific to your faculty and engage with external research data management communities to develop and exchange best practices. In addition, you’ll help to develop relevant software and evaluate and update the faculty’s data management strategy and policy and do reporting.
You’ll also be part of the university-wide data stewards team, where you’ll work closely with the other faculty data stewards as well as data analysts, contract managers and ICT. Furthermore, you’ll liaise with stakeholders in the areas of privacy, security, ethics and legal. In addition, you’ll help streamline workflows within TU Delft, facilitate FAIR software practices and promote open science practices.
