General aspects

The Education and Student Affairs service (ESA) is the central service point for teachers and (prospective) students at Eindhoven University of Technology and provides a range of services both centrally and from the departments in the field of educational support, educational logistics, study skills, career guidance, use of ICT resources in education, professional skills and language teaching. ESA also supports the Executive Board, the Deans of the Bachelor College and the Graduate School, and the departments in the fields of education policy, legislation and regulations, quality assurance, education and institution accreditation, educational innovation and internationalization.

The Teacher Support & Quality Assurance department consists of two main areas of attention: Educational Teacher Support and Educational Quality Assurance. The Teacher Support service team aims to be an educational key partner in TU/e for innovations and the development of learning skills by offering effective, efficient, customer oriented services, with state-of-the-art knowledge and hands-on skills on education, innovation and educational technologies.

The Central Teacher Support team is looking for a colleague who takes the lead in the Education Technology and Innovation processes and who wants to combine high-quality, professional service in an informal, personal culture. Job description

As Co-lead Teacher Support, you will be at the pivot of the integration of technological possibilities in educational developments at the university (e.g., Challenge Based Learning, Learning Analytics, Hybrid/blended education).

Various preconditions have been created at the TU/e for innovations in education and a clear vision towards 2030 has been adopted in the organization. Many new educational ICT systems and AV resources are now making it possible to design education in an optimal mix of forms. Teachers are increasingly making use of this.

You, together with the Teacher Support team, would partner up with several stakeholders in the TU/e (e.g., Educational Board, Teacher Support Chain, Information Manager) to drive the continuous developments in supporting teachers for improving students’ learning.

You would coordinate the work of a motivated and professional team of central teacher support officers and experts in education and technology. The team’s mission is to initiate and create bridges between departments and people to implement educational innovation with passion. Therefore, the team provides departmental teacher supporters with high-quality ICT & Education support that is always up to date. The team supports the departmental teacher supporters and lecturer during the educational design process, analyses, advises, and spars, but also has a hands-on mentality and makes a difference in the organization.


Job requirements

Are you the innovative educational developer with hands-on project management and stakeholder management skills and experience. And can you build the bridge from the educational needs from the TU/e education towards the initiation of technical changes?

Do you have a well-founded and innovative vision on education and do you function optimally in a matrix of actors? Are you a pro-active team player with a customer-oriented attitude?

Are you the coordinator who - together with others in our team - keeps up with ICT & Education developments and will you be giving that extra boost to the range of possibilities and solutions that the entire chain of teacher support officers can offer to our teachers?

Can you translate educational needs as Learning Analytics and Challenge Based learning into the development of educational tools in cooperation with our ICT department? More specifically, are you acquainted with the main concepts behind the GDPR, LTI, API and IT-security?

Do you like pioneering and sharing experiences with the community?

  • MSc degree in Educational Sciences or comparable,
  • Expert in ICT related topics in education
  • Coordinator and Process thinker
  • Experience in translating educational needs to technical functionalities; e.g., assessment systems and educational tools,
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience in Education Technology and Innovation in (Higher-) Education,
  • Strong affinity with technical and scientific subjects,
  • You have experience advising teachers and managing educational projects with a hands-on mentality,
  • You familiarize yourself quickly with new tasks and are independent,
  • Good command of the English language, spoken and written.

Information and application

We are offering a 0.8 - 1.0 FTE appointment. Depending on experience and education, the salary for a full-time contract ranges between € 3.807,00 and € 5.922,00 gross per month (salary scale 11 - 12 CAO Dutch Universities). The TU/e offers a broad package of fringe benefits, for instance a year-end bonus of 8.3%, holiday allowance of 8% and excellent sport facilities.

We are offering a temporary appointment for a period of one year. The employment contract may be extended in the event of good performance and if the financial conditions remain the same.

Depending on the CV and work experience, an appointment via EUFLEX (TU/e secondment agency) is possible.
