How will you contribute?

Join our dynamic team with this exciting job opportunity focused on the development of advanced methodologies and software applications tailored specifically for shape optimization in aerospace and defense applications.

As a key member, you will be at the forefront of innovation, tasked with exploring cutting-edge approaches for combined shape and topology optimization under manufacturing constraints. Your responsibilities will include evaluating the feasibility of integrating fibre-steered composite structures into these applications, utilizing optimization techniques to enhance the design of aerospace and defense components. The ultimate objective is to improve overall performance, durability, achieve weight reduction, and ensure manufacturability. Sustainability is a key consideration, as you'll be involved in assessing the environmental impact of materials and manufacturing processes, contributing to the development of more eco-friendly solutions. This position provides a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of transformative advancements in aerospace and defense technology.

Your will:

·       Develop algorithms and tools for optimization, in particular shape and topology optimization for the design of lightweight structures.

·       Participate to meetings with industrial stakeholders in the framework of the project to determine requirements and define use-cases.

·       Implement workflows based on Python for automated execution of numerical simulations for parametric studies and design optimization.

·       Oversee the development and manufacturing of physical prototypes for testing.

·       Document the design process, iterations, and test analytics.

·       Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

·       Specialization in optimization algorithms, structural mechanics, and composite materials.

·       Experience with shape and topology optimization methods, particularly for lightweight structures is a plus.

·       Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including the industrial partners.

·       Detail-oriented approach to documenting the design process, iterations, and test analytics.

·       Excellent job autonomy in the management of technical, time management and organizational issues.

·       English, both written and oral.
