Discover our Environmental Research and Innovation department: ERIN Department

The Environmental Research and Innovation (ERIN) department of LIST is focusing on pressing environmental challenges our society is facing today. You will join the Environmental and Industrial Biotechnologies (BIOTECH) research unit at LIST. We are looking for a future colleague to design, develop and assess novel food colloid reservoirs for the delivery and uptake of microalgal bioactives.

How will you contribute?

You will work in the frame of the P-SCAN project co-funded by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) and our industrial partner (PM-International AG) through the BRIDGES (Public-private research collaborations) program. P-SCAN project aims on the development and testing of novel protein – fibre-based Pickering particles for the stabilisation of food colloids for the oral delivery of microalgal bioactives.

It is anticipated that you will be in charge of:

  • Designing, developing, and characterising protein – fibre-based Pickering particles for stabilising micro- and nano-templates for the encapsulation of microalgal oils,
  • Assessing the colloidal stability of spray dried food powders conveying Pickering emulsions,
  • Investigating the release properties, cellular uptake, and biological activity of the formulations under in vitro semi-dynamic digestion conditions,
  • Assisting in the preparation of project reports and presentations for the funding parties (FNR, PM-International),
  • Managing project work packages under the supervision and mentorship of the PI,
  • Contributing to the dissemination, valorisation, and transfer of RDI results (patents, prototypes, publications, technical reports, participation in conferences),
  • Co-supervising junior research team members (e.g. MSc and PhD students),
  • Assisting in the preparation of research proposals for internal or external funding.
