The Department of Economics and Management of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg is looking for a PhD candidate to conduct research in Labour Economics.

Your Role...

The doctoral researcher will be working under the supervision of Professor Konstantinos Tatsiramos. The doctoral researcher's main task will be to prepare a doctoral thesis in the field of labour economics. The thesis work will be undertaken at the University of Luxembourg but can also be jointly-supervised with another university. The ideal candidate should have excellent analytical and research skills, some experience in statistical software (e.g. Stata, Python, R), a strong motivation for academic research and interest in empirical research with emphasis on policy evaluation.

The doctoral candidate will contribute to the teaching of small groups in tutorials ranging from one to three hours per week. The doctoral researcher will benefit from being part of large research group comprising several PhDs and Postdoctoral Researchers working on related areas.

Qualifications...

We are looking for a candidate with demonstrated interest in empirical research aiming to conduct original research. In particular, the following requirements apply:

  • A Master's Degree in Economics (quantitative or research training). Candidates should meet the eligibility requirements of the Doctoral Program in Economics and Management Sciences
  • Experience with empirical methods and software
  • Proficiency in English
  • Excellent analytical, communication and writing skills
