Since Kanagawa University of Human Services (KUHS) was founded in 2003 based on the human service philosophy, we have accumulated research and education to foster professionals with broad, comprehensive knowledge and skills related to health, medical care and welfare, and human resources which can promote coordination and collaboration based on their expertise. In April 2019, we opened the School of Health Innovation as an educational and research institute for developing human resources that can innovate social systems and technologies in the field of health and medical care by realizing a new perspective of health called “ME-BYO,” by which we mean health risks or pre-illness in Japanese.

(1)Conditions leading to official acceptance
Official acceptance will occur after a medical examination based on KUHS regulations.
(2)Term system
KUHS has implemented a term system for all faculty members based on the Act on the Term of Office of University Teachers, etc. (Act No. 82 of 1997). In accordance with Article 2 of the Regulations on the Term of Faculty Members at KUHS, the term of employment for an associate professor is five years (Reemployment can be accepted), that for a junior associate professor is five years (Reemployment can be accepted and extended up to two times (15 years in total)), and that for an assistant professor is five years (Reemployment can be accepted and extended up to two times. The first reemployment period is up to three years and the second reemployment period is up to two years (10 years in total)).
(3)Cross Appointment Agreement
If you wish to continue working at the institution where you are currently employed (hereinafter referred to as "your institution"), you may be hired on the premise that the University and your institution conclude a cross-appointment agreement. In this case, please obtain prior approval from your institution before applying for the position.
We expect that applicant’s engagement at KUHS will be at least 60% of the work (negotiable). The salary and other expenses will be determined according to the effort ratio. The working conditions of this type of employment will be stated in an agreement to be concluded between the University and your institution.

65 years old (retire on the first March 31 after reaching 65 years old)

Upon being hired as a faculty member of KUHS, in addition to education and research at the School of Health Innovation (Kawasaki Campus), you may also work on education, research, etc., related to lectures, practical training, etc., at the Center for Innovation Policy, which is established as an affiliated institution throughout KUHS and functions as a think tank, and at the Yokosuka Campus (undergraduate and graduate schools (held on weekdays (daytime and evening courses) and Saturdays), and in education, etc., at the Center for Professional Education, which is affiliated with KUHS as an incumbent educational institution.
